2011 Atlantic City Pool and Spa Show

Lorrie did her homework when she decided to add a swimming pool to her backyard. “I wanted a pool that would match the natural theme that we have worked so hard to create. I’m a diver, so it was important to me to have a pool that is deep enough.”

“It’s beautiful! We’ve had a great time with the pool. It’s really added a lot of life to our backyard; it’s added a lot of fun to our backyard!” Lorrie’s backyard transformation was complete with a Capri pool design by Composite Pools. Other features that Lorrie filled her backyard with include pool tiling from National Pool Tile, both on the perimeter of the pool, and in the steps and seats. As well as two sets of cascades, aroma therapy, a jump board from SR Smith, and FiberStars Fiber Optic lighting. All her backyard furniture was chosen from Telescope Casual Furniture.

We got to hear this story first hand during the 2011 Atlantic City Pool and Spa Show! Lorrie speaks about the great flood that stalled the installation of her Composite Pool. The pool survived and the installation carried on, making this one of the most beautiful backyards created to date! View more pictures here, and view the video here.

This pool does tricks!

Ever wonder how those beautiful lakeshore houses create the backyard of their dreams, pool included? In this unique story for a homeowner in Chapin, South Carolina, we witness the delivery and installation of their Composite Pool from Griffin Pools and Spas.

Located at Lake Murry, these homeowners faced a bit of a dilemma when building the backyard of their dreams. Their lake shore home is nestled in a wooded area, leaving it impossible for their Composite Pool to be delivered by truck. Construction Forman, Tim Assamany worked with the homeowner on ways to deliver the pool.

“This is not a common way that we would deliver a pool, but it was the only way to get the pool to the homeowner’s backyard,” says Tim. “We had never done it before, so there were concerns.” The pool was dropped off at Eptings Landing, a loading and unloading site for boats, and other aquatic equipment. The pool shell was then meet by a pontoon boat, where it was carefully attached with rope to be pulled.

“The concern with floating the pool was that we needed to keep it in calm waters,” explains Tim, “It was important to keep the pool level, and because of the pool buoyancy on the water, it didn’t cause much of a problem.” The pool was then floated a half a mile to the homeowner’s personal dock, where it was then attached to a crane to be lifted from the water.

“After we got the pool on land, it was a quick installation process. It took a day to get the pool delivered, floated and in the ground,” explains Tim. “The homeowners showed some concern with this delivery process, but were relieved once the pool was in the ground.”

Griffin Pools and Spas located in Lexington, SC, prove with this pool installation that they are willing to go the distance to satisfy any homeowner. To view more of their backyard creations, visit their website, griffinpoolsandspas.com.
