Earth Friendly
Due to the non-porous finish on a Composite Pool, fewer chemicals are needed because algae is less prone to attach to smoother surfaces. Additionally, less cleaning will have to be performed using automatic pool cleaners saving electricity.
When automatic pool cleaners are used, the time it takes to clean the pool will be reduced saving additional energy. As Composite fiberglass pools do not rely on steel panels or steel mesh/rebar for structure, they do not have the potential to leech chemicals and rust back into the groundwater as a more conventional constructed pool would. Fiberglass pools in general act as a natural insulator.
Your filter and heater will potentially run less than equipment on a vinyl/gunite pool. Depending on the climate and size of the pool, a homeowner can save up to $225.00 per month on their pool maintenance with our pools versus other types of pools (vinyl/gunite).
With more and more people concerned about our environment, our Eco-Friendly pools are already the pool of tomorrow. Not only do our pools use less chemicals and energy, our pools never need to be re-plastered, nor do they have a liner to replace -- thus resulting in less waste in our landfills.

Fiberglass Pool Myth #4
Fiberglass pools pop out of the ground.
TRUTH:
A Composite fiberglass pools will never pop out of the ground if it is properly installed. This is because our fiberglass pools should always be filled with water and the surrounding concrete engulfs the pool’s outer lip, making it impossible for the pool to move unless the concrete moves with it. If any type of pool is installed in an area with a high water table, it is the responsibility of the builder to properly install and safeguard the pool against possible damage due to the high ground water whether it is a fiberglass, vinyl lined or concrete pool.

Fiberglass Pool Myth #1
Fiberglass pools only work in warm climates.
TRUTH:
It is an accepted fact in the swimming pool industry that fiberglass has the ability to “flex” due to its incredible tensile strength, much more so than any other type of pool (i.e. concrete). When someone is concerned about freeze conditions having an adverse effect on fiberglass, they are forgetting that when the water in the pool freezes is expands in an upward direction which has no barriers. The simple fact is that Composite Pools has never had a customer sustain any damage to the fiberglass shell due to freezing weather conditions.

The Pro’s of a Composite Pool

Once again, Composite Pools has your back! We have taken the three top selling pools- fiberglass, gunite (concrete) and liner pools and laid out a rather interesting comparison.
Let’s talk installation time. Usually when you decide to purchase a pool, you are quite excited for the new addition and want to be swimming in no time! With a Composite fiberglass pool, you will find that our installation process can be done in as few as three days! With a gunite pool, the installation process can take as long as 8 weeks, (that’s two months)! Although it doesn’t take as long to install a vinyl liner pool there are many mishaps that could happen, such as a tear in the liner during installation, which could prolong the process!

With a fiberglass and gunite pool, we are talking permanent home improvement, whereas a vinyl liner pool is considered temporary. Next on our minds, staying ecofriendly! A fiberglass pool requires fewer chemicals, and maintenance. A gunite pool has to be re-plastered from time to time, which adds to our landfills. As do a vinyl liner pool, where the liner, over time, has to be replaced and the chemicals used to constantly clean this pool only pollute the earth.

Lastly, let’s talk about cost over 10 years. Maintenance cost for a Composite Pools fiberglass pool is $4,200.00. Let’s compare that to a whopping $16,950.00 for a gunite pool and a $11,500.00 for a vinyl liner pool!
After these comparisons, it’s easy to see which product is best. Not only is a Composite Pool going to save you money over time in maintenance, but is cost effective as an investment, and who can deny the beauty a Composite Pool will bring to your backyard!

Carbon Fiber ~ Composite Pools Construction

Carbon fiber is similar to fiberglass. It’s a strong yet light composite material. It has many applications in aerospace and automotive fields, as well as in sailboats, and notably in modern bicycles and motorcycles, where its high strength-to-weight ratio is of importance. Its increasingly common in small consumer goods as well, such as laptops, tripods, fishing rods, paintball equipment, archery equipment, racquet frames, stringed instrument bodies, classical guitar strings, drum shells, golf clubs, and pool/billiards/snooker cues.
